Midtown Neighborhood Association 2026 Update

Hey Midtown! Big changes are here. After pouring our hearts into the Houseman Playground Re-Creation for our neighborhood (have you seen it?!), MNA is entering a new chapter. We've got fresh faces on the board, a new executive director, and a whole lot of energy to make things happen for our neighborhood. 2026 has already been a busy and complex year in just about every way imaginable and we’re working to build new ways to connect with and show up for our community! ♥️

Keep an eye on our socials and this site for updates. Good things are coming in 2026.
Happy spring, midtown neighbors!

About The Midtown Neighborhood Association

We are a neighborhood organization registered as a non-profit. We receive funding from the federal government via the Department of Housing and Urban Development and allocated via the City of Grand Rapids commissioners. We are one of a dozen or so other funded neighborhood associations. Most neighborhoods in Grand Rapids have a functioning association (whether funded or not) that collaborate and work together to make this city a hospitable place to live.

Geographically, our neighborhood is centrally located in Grand Rapids, Michigan between the East Hills, Fulton Heights, and Heritage Hill neighborhoods. Our boundaries are Highway 196 to the North, Fuller Avenue to the East, Fulton Street to the South, and Union Avenue to the West. Our office/HUB is nestled at the bottom corner boundaries in the same plaza as the Fulton Street Farmers Market. We operate out of the old brick building on the park-owned property.

Midtown includes Houseman Field, Fulton Street Cemetery (the oldest public cemetery in Grand Rapids), The Midtown Green, and the Fulton Street Farmer's Market, the largest source of fresh local produce in the city.

Midtown employs an Executive Director tasked with advocating alongside residents & stakeholders in matters of neighborhood improvement, leadership and crime prevention. Our mission is to unite neighbors in a volunteer capacity, build pride in the neighborhood, and create an attractive community in which to live, work, and play.
